The lounge and dinning rooms can be done as a combined project, keeping in mind that your decor should follow through in each room. If you go for dark oak furniture in the dinning room, then try to keep to same for your lounge. If you have an open plan layout, then this will create uniformity, which will equate into the illusion of more space.
Window coverings are also important, and here you could either use conventional curtains in a neutral color throughout the house, or you could have beautiful venetian blinds installed. They come in gold and silver these days, so your home will have a very elegant look. Matched with a thickly lined curtain which is draped to the floor, will make for a stunning setting in each room.
Wall paint is also important and the experts say that it’s best to keep your walls the same color in all rooms.
